Kenneth A. Hoffman is an attorney and founding partner of the Chicago law firm of Mitchell, Hoffman & Wolf, LLC. His personal injury practice is concentrated in the fields of automobile and trucking accidents, medical malpractice and wrongful death litigation. Ken has also successfully represented numerous clients in cases involving abuse and neglect in nursing homes and other long term care facilities.
A 1991 graduate of Washington University School of Law, Mr. Hoffman is the former Chairman of the Chicago Bar Association Tort Litigation Committee and in 2003 was named by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin as one of the top 40 attorneys under the age of 40 in Illinois. He has previously served on the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association Board of Advocates and is a member of the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Chicago Bar Association. In 2012 Mr. Hoffman was inducted in to the Illinois Society of Trial Lawyers.
Ken has obtained numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for his clients. Most prominently he obtained a jury verdict in the amount of $9.95 million dollars for the family of Patricia Lopez in a wrongful death/medical malpractice action. Other notable results include:
$6.25 million dollar Wrongful Death Settlement for the family of a highway construction worker who was struck and killed by a trucker in a work zone.
$6.25 million dollar settlement on behalf of child who suffered permanent brain damage and cerebral palsy as a result of the negligence of the delivering physician in failing to recognize signs of distress on the fetal heart rate during labor.
$3 million dollar verdict on behalf of a former US postal worker who suffered permanent neurological injuries to his left arm in a motorcycle accident with a Chicago Police Department squad car on Lake Shore Drive.
$1.97 million dollar settlement involving the failure of two Chicago area physicians to timely diagnose mouth cancer causing.
$1.5 million dollar medical malpractice settlement against a Chicago area hospital based on its failure to timely and properly treat post-operative complications
